In Love with Covers is a new feature here on Book Geek Central and will take place every Sunday. The first thing that I look at when looking for books is the cover. The cover is the primary reason that I pick up a book. This feature highlights gorgeous covers of books I've seen either around the blogosphere or at the bookshop.
I'm so sorry for not adding this post last week, but I was out all day last Sunday for a family members birthday so I wasn't able to get to a computer all day. As a way to say that I'm sorry I'm adding two beautiful covers that I have found insteed of one this week!
This first one that I have found caught my eye right away and I can't wait to read this book! The beautiful colours of the universe, the stars and the way that the cover is planned out with the two people almost kissing is just beautiful. I'm definatly in love with this cover!
Across the Universe
Genre: young adult, sci-fi
A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.
Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone—one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship—tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn’t do something soon, her parents will be next.
Now, Amy must race to unlock Godspeed’s hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there’s only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.
Now for number two. I found this cover a couple of days ago and yes it is purple again but I still think that it is a very beautiful cover; the art work is just absolutely beautiful. I'm so in love with this cover aswell.
The Mark (The Mark #1)
Genre: young adult, paranormal, fantasy
Cassandra Renfield has always seen the mark—a glow around certain people reminiscent of candlelight. But the one time she mentioned it, it was dismissed as a trick of the light. Until the day she watches a man awash in the mark die. After searching her memories, Cassie realizes she can see a person’s imminent death. Not how or where, only when: today.
Armed with a vague understanding of the light, Cassie begins to explore her “gift,” seeking those marked for death and probing the line between decision and destiny. Though she’s careful to hide her secret—even from her new philosophy-obsessed boyfriend—with each impending death comes the temptation to test fate. But so many questions remain. How does the mark work? Why is she the only one who sees it? And finally, the most important of all: If you know today is someone’s last, should you tell them?
Thanks for checking out this weeks In Love with Covers I hope you liked my cover loves. What your most recent cover love?
